Enjoying some sort of beverage (boozy or otherwise) always seems to become an iconic part of a career change for me. This Trad Cap with a Sidecar from Luck Bros. Coffee House in Grandview is my latest. Best Cappucino I’ve ever had (following a shot of Espresso, which myself and a former coworker were instructed to drink within ten seconds of being handed the little red cup). So good, and it’s not just because I got a Luck Bros. inscribed Shrinky Dink with my purchase at the register.
What we’re snackin’ on this Christmas morning:
- Sugardaddy’s frosting shots and gourmet brownies: I come from a long line of Sweet Tooths and my folks are in town from the Chicago area this year. It’s on.
- Thunderkiss Coffee: we’ve got a design dork in the house who fell in love with the packaging…and then of course, the coffee its self.
- Lactaid Milk: there’s also a Lactard in the house, so this vintage glass from Celebrate Local is as close as we can get to cowtown.
What’s on your table today?
It’s Shop Local Saturday so here’s something for ya: Columbusites Trent Beers and Kimberly Byce launched Waxsmith Vintage Vessels today on Etsy. The couple, whose first hot date was an antiquing excursion, are constantly combining their goofy sense of humor with a reverence for repurposing and class to match (see also: Trent’s rehabbed 1800’s era house in Weinland Park, complete with wall-mounted beer taps made from an old furnace cover). Shop Waxsmith’s 100% soy candle collection online at http://www.etsy.com/shop/waxsmithvintage or catch them between 2pm and 4pm at the historic Davis-Heer house in Old Town East for a trunk show and tour on December 4th. Even the tags are hand stamped on the back of cardboard castaways. Happy shopping!
