The attentionworthy, the craveworthy and perhaps the occasional unsavory, in and around Columbus, OHIO...capital city...sleeper hottie of the midwest.

Another one bites the dust!  Vintage diner, Michael’s Goody Boy Drive-In is making way for another…hookah bar.  While I’ve read about the shady business of the former owner here, I do hope the remodel doesn’t sacrifice the charm of this High Street building.  While taking pictures I was approached by one of whom I assumed to be part of the new operation.  He was very friendly but I was a bit surprised and skedaddled. Fingers crossed for a good business replacement.

The fine city of Columbus does have a knack for ignoring the importance of historical landmarks to make way for…whatever floats an investor’s boat at the moment.  Here’s to hoping the sign and the original facade remain…to see otherwise would be a damn shame.  Building pride in one’s city is about preserving the past just as much as forward thinking!
