

Crap. Where did this year go? September will close its doors over the weekend—taking Summer with it. This post is dedicated to the late Daymon Dodson, whose likeness is celebrated in this mural by Andrew Kern, as seen from E.T. Paul Tires on Parsons Avenue, Columbus, O. He was the kind of somebody in this town who (as you sheepishly made a beeline to the ladies’ room) would shout “HEY!” from across the cooler-than-thou bar…even if you were nobody but some musician buddy’s girlfriend. I don’t think I’ll ever forget that moment, as dumb as it sounds. This spot in the world makes me happy.
